Hand Carved Quartz Crystal Sphinx on Sodalite Base

A beautiful one-of-a-kind carved genuine quartz crystal Sphinx that sits on a dark blue sodalite base.

This figural piece measures about 4 1/4" tall including the base and is very detailed with fine line carving throughout. The base is carved with pyramids and two other symbols.  The base measures about 1 1/2" square and stands about one inch high.

There is a striation or line within the crystal that goes from the front shoulder to just under the head and then to deep within the back.  At first I thought it was a crack but I can see a smooth carved surface on the front and realized that this is the nature of the crystal. 

Some believe that the line of the inclusion is the steep and narrow path to learning, or spiritual recognition.
